POSSE Benefits
In addition to the immense pride of helping Cowboy and Cowgirl student-athletes compete at the highest level on the playing field and in the classroom, POSSE members receive a number of annual benefits based on their giving level. Click on the links below to learn more.
Where Your Money Goes
Your donation to the POSSE can be designated to a variety of areas of need within the program. Gifts are classified as either unrestricted or restricted and are designated to one of the following areas:
UNRESTRICTED FUNDS
Varsity Athletics
Supports OSU student-athletes and touches every sport on campus, supplementing where money is needed most.
Donor Seating
Specific sections in Boone Pickens Stadium and Gallagher-Iba Arena require an annual donation to qualify for a season ticket in that section. (Please contact the OSU Ticket Office for availability.)
Iba-Fenimore Society
The Iba-Fenimore Society consists of donors who pledge $1000 per year above and beyond their regular contributions. The group is focused on improving athletic facilities and promoting the overall success of OSU’s athletic program.
RESTRICTED FUNDS
Facilities
Donations to facility projects help OSU keep pace with peer institutions while giving student-athletes, coaches and fans enhanced venues.
Athletic Scholarships
Supports the ever-rising cost of education for OSU’s 400-plus student-athletes. The average cost for one year of tuition, books, room and board for an OSU student in 2004-2005 was $9,160 (in-state) and $13,880 (non-resident).
Individual (Specific) Sports
Coaches are always in need of donations to help with special projects that are not covered by their annual budget. Designating a gift to your favorite sport or their club is one way to help. With these gifts supporting general operating costs for each sport, donations in these areas will count towards annual POSSE benefits.
Endowments
Donors may choose to fully or partially endow a scholarship for a position in a particular sport (for example, The Bob & Mary Smith Quarterback Scholarship). Because endowments are funded by the revenue generated from the principal amount (the principal is never reduced), donors funding an endowed scholarship create a lasting legacy for OSU Athletics.
Donations received may be transferred to Cowboy Athletics, Inc. in accordance with the Joint Resolution among Oklahoma State University, the Oklahoma State University Foundation, and Cowboy Athletics, Inc.
